Georgia Mountain Restaurant in Hiawassee

We asked a local resident to recommend a good lunch spot on a Saturday and she said Steve's place for their fried chicken. Our waitress said they had menu items too but we opted for the buffet. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Fried chicken, beef tips, rice, potatoes, green beans, and black eyed peas. I especially loved the fried corn nuggets. Hubby didn't like those said they were too sweet. Desserts were tasty and homemade. Friendly service.

1st visit. Had the well stocked buffet. Salad, entre (fried chicken , pork chops, chicken livers) various sides, dessert and drink....very reasonably priced. Will definitely go back.

Awwsome country cooking. Delicious fried chicken and pork chops. Vegetables wonderfully seasoned. Homemade banana pudding is literally like Grandmas. Can't say enough about this place. Gotta visit.

Swung in here for lunch while passing through as I like to visit local establishments rather than chain franchises. I was not disappointed! Great lunch buffet for a great price. Good food and good service. Glad I stopped!

We always enjoy eating at Steve's Place. Good comfort food! The staff is awesome! Our favorite waitress is Teresa. She has always provided us with great service!!

The Resturant has recently come under new management/ownership. A very good atmosphere with great service. The fried chicken is the best in town and they have amazing burgers. I would recommend this Resturant to anyone coming to Hiawassee. Well worth the money.

We loved this cute little restaurant! The food was all homemade and they even had fried green tomatoes! We very reasonably priced, especially for a buffet...will definitely be back anytime we are in the area! Sweet people!

Great little buffet. Good food. Great service. They have a simple grill menu, also. Salad, and desert bar. Banana pudding is awesome. Food is reaaly good.

We stopped in while traveling through Hiawassee. The food was excellent. You can order from the menu or eat at the buffet. We ate from the buffet and the food was excellent. Service was good. Avery friendly and casual atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Good breakfast buffet. Food was avetage, but plenty of it! Server was awesome! Decor was friendly and well done. Nice country feel.

We had the lunch buffet which was excellent. The selection is great with multiple meats and vegetables, a salad bar and a dessert bar. I think that I tried some of everything and it was all good and a couple of other desserts were excellent. The service was great also and the employee's were very friendly. The price for all the buffet and a drink is only $7.44. they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Steve's Place is definitely not focused on bringing in a younger crowd. I mean no offense when I say BORING!!!! The buffet here consists of fried chicken, beef roast, mac n cheese, rice and biscuits. A very simple salad bar and chili. Nothing food wise was spectacular and the restaurant itself is way out of date

Great food, service, & atmosphere

One of the best places in town. Friendly service great food and reasonable prices. If you need if you need coat and tie with soft music, this is not the place. If your looking for plenty of good food, clean atmosphere friendly service, did I mention great food. This is the place. We are not from here so we can't say this is the only place but I don't see how someone could beat it. Did I mention great food reasonably price.

Just down home food and service. Nice place to get a good comfort meal.

Steve's Place is a great place to eat! The food is always good! I love the Sunday Buffet because they have turkey, dressing and all the trimmings. There are other items to choose from too. There is also a great Salad Bar. The Owners are wonderful people and all of the employees are so friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

The BEST home style Southern Cooking!!! My kids and I were driving through Hiawassee and stopped for a meal. Our server, Sheila, was awesome. We enjoyed her company each visit. Great atmosphere and excellent food. So much so that we made a point to bring my husband back when we were driving through a couple days later. We were excited to share. When my husband tastes the fried chicken he told us that it tasted just like his Grandma’s fried chicken. That is one of the best compliments he could give. Don’t miss out on Steve’s Place. I recommend the buffet and also the delicious French Dip. Yum!!!

Great fired chicken wear elastic waistband pants so you can eat as much as you like on the buffet.

Very cozy and quaint restaurant. It is a buffet with good down home food!! The fried chicken is nothing short of perfect!! Everything I ate was delicious! A must try for sure!

This place has a delicious home cooked buffet. Wonderful, friendly staff also. We ate there 5 times while visiting the area and never had a bad meal or complaint. There were 3 of us. Buffet includes hot bar,salad bar, soup , homemade desserts and a drink for very reasonable price. This is not a upscale restaurant just good home cooked meals.

Limited options for the salad, food bars; although everything tasted was good. Great options on the dessert selection!

Very friendly service. Nice, clean atmosphere. Reasonable prices and super delicious food! Oh! And save room for dessert! Banana pudding, bread pudding and chocolate cobbler!! Our family will definitely be back every time we are in the area!!

Best thing to happen to this place, was Steve taking over it. Very good, fresh food, good prices and service is always friendly and on the ball. Hometown atmosphere and laid back.

My wife had the dinner buffet and I had a Club Sandwich. Both were awesome. We'd recommend this place to anyone in the area.
